The itinerary of your private tour begins with your professional driver collecting your from your hotel/apartment in Milan and together with your private guide you will reach the Sforza Castle, built by the Sforza Family in the 15th Century as their residence and fortress, with contributions of several engineers and architects, including Leonardo Da Vinci . According to the timing of your Last Supper tickets schedule, we will reach the church which hosts the one-of-a-kind Leonardo’s fresco, Santa Maria delle Grazie. The guided tour of the painting and the church will take approximately 1hr, after that you will visit one of the oldest churches of the city, named after San Lorenzo, and the beautiful columns ruins, located in front of the roman-age basilica (church).
The next key-point will be Piazza Duomo, with the magnificent cathedral of Milan (The Duomo), the third largest catholic church in the world, an impressive tribute to the greatness of medieval Italian Gothic style. Inside of the Duomo you will learn about the history and art of this temple and (if time allows) go up to the terraces on top of the cathedral to admire a spectacular view over the city.
After this, you will cross the square to enter the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery. Built in the 19th Century, the Galleria rapidly became one of the most popular places in the city thanks to the elegant cafés, luxury shops and prestigious restaurants. Next, you will continue with a free lunch-time, where you can taste the local dishes and wine, or with a quick brunch, in typical Milan-rushing style.
On the opposite side of the Galleria you will exit in front of the the Scala Opera House, famous for being the stage of the greatest artists of all time, composers and directors like Verdi, Puccini, Toscanini; ballet dancers like Nureyev and opera stars like Pavarotti, they all found here their greatest successes. From the Scala you the proceed to the Brera neighborhood, one of the most ancient and charming areas of Milan, visit the Brera National Gallery. This museum hosts a magnificent collection of paintings and you will see works by Raphael, Caravaggio, Mantegna, Piero della Francesca. If times allows the tour can also include the Fashion/Design district, the so-called “Quadrilatero della Moda” (Fashion square) – the heart of the Italian Fashion with ateliers and shops by Armani, Gucci, Prada, Dolce&Gabbana, Versace, and many others.
