Enjoy at in the first Italian capital! Turin is a majestic and royal city located between the Pianura Padana and the Alps, in the north-west of the Country, 2hr drive from Milan.
Departing from Milan you will reach Turin in a couple of hours. Your private driving guide will collect you from your hotel in Milan and start the driving heading West. Turin played an important role in the first years of Italy and you can feel it walking through its streets.
Arriving in Turin the first thing everyone notices is the Mole Antonelliana, and this will be our first stop. The Symbol of Turin is a building located in the historical centre and 167 meters high. It was built in different fases starting from the year 1863 by the architect Alessandro Antonelli, the man from who takes the name from.
Today the Mole Antonelliana hosts the National Cinema Museum. Following the shape of the building, the museum develops itself in height creating beautiful sceneries. Here you can admire pieces from the sets of many major movies and watch extracts from those.
Following you will have the time to walk to the city streets and have some free time in the city centre to do some shopping and have lunch.
If you are a chocolate enthusiast our driver will be more than happy to suggest you some shop where you can buy top quality Piedmont chocolate, including the typical Gianduiotto, made with sugar, cocoa and hazelnut cultivated in the Langhe area.
You will to visit Piazza Castello, the square which hosts the Royal Palace of Turin and Palazzo Madama, the first Senate building of Italian History. The square is very wide and during summer , fountains provide water decorative effects.
After that, in a few minute walking you will reach: Piazza San Carlo.
Piazza San Carlo hosts in a great bronze equestrian statue of Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia. The Square also hosts two “twin” baroque churches: Santa Cristina and San Carlo (Saint Charles).
Another great pearl of the city is the Egyptian Museum. It is the world second museum dedicated to Ancient Egypt following by dimension only the Cairo Museum. If you are an history enthusiast or you’re just curious you can’t miss occasion! The museum hosts many mummies and statues from the ancient Egypt.
If time and weather allows you will also have the chance to visit the beautiful Parco del Valentino, a fascinating city park that follows on one side the river Po.
After the visit of the city, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Milan (or other custom location).
