Escape from the city, in less than two hours you will get to one of the most beautiful lakes of Italy and Europe: Lake Maggiore, with its antique charm, elegance and timeless beauty.
The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Milan, after a 1.5hr drive you will reach Stresa, our first tour site.
From there, together with your private driver will reach the two Borromeo Islands with a water-taxi: Isola Bella and the Fishermen’s Island. Isola Bella (Beautiful Island) hosts the Borromeo Palace, one of the family residencies built on 1630’s . The building has a unique Italian-style garden, visited by thousands of people every year for his elegance in geometrical formations. The water-taxi will the take you to the Fishermen’s Island, where you can enjoy a relaxed lunchtime in one of the family-run restaurants, overlooking the lake. After lunch, the tour will proceed with a car-ferry ride to the opposite side of the lake, from Verbania to Laveno.
If time allows, after a very short car-ride will reach the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, a 14th century monastery perched on the eastern rocky side of the Lake. The visit of the monastery require a 15min step-walk or a very inexpensive elevator service.
The tour will then conclude with a transfer back to your hotel in Milan or other selected location.
