The itinerary of your private tour begins with your private driver collecting you from your hotel, cruise-port or airport in Cagliari.
The first part of the tour is dedicated to a mini-city-tour of the essentials of the Cagliari. Your first key-point will be the sea-front main alley ‘Via Roma‘ with its charming buildings including the city hall palace.
Afterwards, you will visit the artistic neighborhood of ‘La Marina’ passing by one of the symbols of the city: ‘The Saint Remy Bastion’ – an impressive fortification wall built at the end of 19th century by the viceroy Filippo-Guglielmo Pallavicini. At its base you will find one of the most elegant shopping area recently renovated: in ‘Via Garibaldi’ street you can enjoy some free time for a coffee-break or some local-store shopping.
After that, you will reach the upper city, so called ‘Castello’ (Castle) neighborhood. Here you can admire the beauty of a maze-like structure of small and narrow streets surrounded by close-by charming ancient buildings. Hence, you will reach the main square ‘Piazza Palazzo’ and discover two of the most important buildings of the city: The Cathedral and the Viceroy Palace, in the past, headquarters of the religious and civil power.
The second part of the tour includes the Nuragic Civilization. Together with your driver, after 1h drive you will get to Barumini, where Su Nuraxi is located: the most important existent Nuragic site.
The impressive buildings and ruins date back to the 17th century BC. Also, Su Nuraxi is surrounded by a village of huts, dating back to the late Bronze Age. Together with one of the licensed guides of site, you will learn about the history of the Nuraghe: how was built and what was used for. With a complete description of this ancient mysterious civilization that lived in Sardinia centuries ago, their social structure, architecture, habits and manufactures.
At the end of the guided visit, the tour will conclude with a transfer back to your hotel or custom location.
