Why Choose Us?
Our journey actually began in Nice, France, where our Italy Discover Tours driver, Simone, arrived bright-eyed and bushy tailed to transport us to Alba, Italy. This was the first of many times I felt that Italy Discovery Tours team went out of their way to provide us with the most hospitable and amazing customer service! Simone was with us for 3 and a half days, and made our trip so easy and enjoyable. He was always on time, courteous, professional, his English was great and I understand he speaks other languages as well. He added a lot of highlights to the trip, offering information along the way and a charming fun personality, we shared a lot of laughs and made great memories.
Our first destination was the Winery, nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of Piedmont. The wine makers were so gracious and informative, we tasted some exceptional wines and were treated to an amazing lunch at the winery! They even made a special vegan meal for my daughter, which she really appreciated and everything they served was absolutely authentic, delicious and presented with care and finesse.
We took the tour to Parma and Modena on our second day in Italy, and found the food and scenery to be very intriguing.
Our guide, Camilla, was very knowledgeable, friendly, charming – another great representative of Lorenzo’s team! She was so well versed in the destinations and her translation skills extended beyond simply words, you can tell she loves what she does. We learned about the production of Prosciutto di Parma, Parmesan Reggiano and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
To get a sense of how much love and care go into these products, be able to meet the very passionate and charismatic producers and sample these regional delicacies was such a unique way to experience the country.
Milan was our base for discovering Italy, and we very much enjoyed a walking tour on our last day in Italy. Our guide, Valentina, was very well educated and experienced in the history and culture of Milan, and was a delight to be with, so friendly and interesting.
Italy Discovery Tours staff was able to get us tickets to The Last Supper, which was all sold out for months in advance of our trip, so that was a really nice surprise and I would say – a must see. The art and architecture was inspiring and jaw dropping; the Duomo, La Scala Opera House and Sforza Castle – three amazing historical landmarks nestled inside a bustling, modern and vibrant city. I don’t think we would have truly appreciated the significance of these iconic sights, as well as the local culture of Milan without Valentina, she really made the day wonderful for us!
